It seems like the Mazda CX-5 is always being awarded or recognized for one of its many outstanding qualities. This time around, Earth, Wind & Power Media (EWP) has awarded the vehicle the "Most Earth-Friendly" Truck of the Year award, and at Budd Baer Mazda, we must say, it is well-deserved.
In the 5th year of being in existence, the "Most Earth-Friendly" award goes to vehicles that consistently improve climate change and cut back carbon emissions to promote a cleaner world around us.
Regarding the Mazda CX-5, it’s one of the most efficient SUV’s in North America – including hybrids - boasting 35 miles for each gallon of gasoline. It’s also capable of 29 mpg using its standard SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter gas engine.
The Mazda CX-5 was the firstnew Mazda vehicle to be equipped with SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY, the next being the Mazda3 and Mazda6 sedans.
On the 2014 Mazda CX-5, the car maker anticipates to increase the SKYACTIV-G engine to a more powerful 2.5-liter platform, predicting it’ll only lose 1 MPG in city driving on automatic transmissions. That's pretty impressive.
Of course, the Mazda CX-5 never ceases to amaze. If you'd like to learn more about the vehicle that is being lauded from national publications, to eco-friendly groups, to your neighbor down the street, stop in and visit us at Budd Baer Mazda. We're located at 71 Murtland Ave in Washington, PA and are always willing to answer your questions on new Mazda vehicles and set up test drives.
